Shopping for a Gender Neutral Baby Shower

When many people are shopping for a baby shower they may be searching for pink clothing, cuddly animals, blankets and toys if they know that a baby girl is expected or they may shop for these items in shade of blue if the parents are having a boy. But what if the parents are unsure of the sex of the baby they are having? While many parents may want to know if they are having a boy or a girl ahead of time to plan things like the nursery other parents like the idea of a surprise. If you are attending the shower of a baby whose sex is going to be a surprise you may be on the lookout for gender neutral baby shower gifts.

If you have never shopped for a gender neutral baby shower you may worry finding the perfect gifts will be a bit more challenging but it doesn’t have to be. The first thing you can do is check out the baby shower registry if the parents have made one at a local store. This will likely have all of the items they want for the nursery, toys they would like their child to have, or even the diapers they plan on using. For a gender neutral baby shower you may see lots of gifts and décor in shades of yellow and green. If they parents have made the decision not to register for gifts you may want to contact them directly and find out what color the nursery will be or which items they are still in need of.

Another great option is a gender neutral gift basket or diaper cake; by giving something like this you will be giving a gift that contains many items that the parents will need and use through the first few months of life. Gift baskets and diaper cakes often contain diapers, bath time necessities, receiving blankets, toys, and possibly even an article or two of clothing. Make sure the items that you purchase for your diaper cake or gift basket are gender neutral if you decide to go this route. Whichever items you end up purchasing the parents will surely be happy with the thought that you put into the gift and end up using it.
